At one time or another, every single one of us can benefit from engaging the perspective of another human being. I’m honored by each and every client who enlists me to participate in their journey. Are you ready to pursue healing and wholeness for yourself or your family? If so, I hope you will consider reaching out today; I’m excited to leverage my skills and specialties alongside you and yours! I work with people experiencing a variety of concerns – for example – anxiety, behavior problems, depression, distressing thoughts, domestic abuse, family transitions, grief and loss, life adjustments, parenting, relationships, sexuality, substance use, and stress or trauma. No matter what challenges clients are facing, my office is a space of acceptance, empowerment, and integration. My clinical philosophy is based on the belief that humanity is inherently good and my life’s mission is to love people. All of them! I’m guided by values of authenticity, curiosity, humility, and integrity. Clients find me approachable, non-judging, and compassionate, while maybe a bit silly and endearingly “nerdy”. My practice is person-centered and grounded in attachment theory and the principles of interpersonal neurobiology. My favorite therapeutic techniques blend alliance, nervous system regulation, external processing, and existential insight with concrete tools borrowed from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and behavioral interventions such as CBT and DBT. I believe respect, empathy, and connection are foundational to a therapeutic relationship in which my clients experience a sense of being known and valued. I align with feminist and social justice perspectives and am inspired by the work of Glennon Doyle, Becky Kennedy, Dan Siegel, Liz Gilbert, Johann Hari, and Bell Hooks. Starting out my higher education with a Bachelor’s of Social Work from the University of St. Thomas in 2004, I then spent nearly 20 years working with children and adolescents at some of the Twin Cities’ most respected non-profit organizations. In 2023, I upgraded my degree to a Master’s of Social Work at St. Catherine University and am currently pursuing advancement of my professional license to become an LICSW. In addition to my role as a therapist, I’m a mother, friend, mentor, and humanitarian real estate investor. I enjoy documentaries, audiobooks, karaoke, word or logic puzzles, community volunteering, and attending my children’s athletics and other performances. My top sources of inspiration are friends, music, and Captain Marvel. I hope you’ll reach out and contact me today – I’m looking forward to getting to know you and your story! “We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.” ~Brené Brown
