Releasing unhealthy thoughts and habits takes time, patience and compassion. Healing is a process. Our goal is working together, to restore mind, body and spirit to optimal health.

I value working with individuals in recovery or considering recovery, substance use disorders, medical diagnoses and chronic pain by offering somatic psychotherapy, pain management techniques and health/wellness coaching. My goal is for you to be truly seen, heard, and understood with unconditional positive regard and non-judgement. I trust and honor your inner wisdom and intuition. I try my best to use my role as therapist with wisdom, sensitivity and skill rather than power or judgment.

Lisa Olivera wrote: “As a therapist, I won’t try to fix you. Give you advice. Tell you what to do. Pretend I know more about you than you do. Assume what is best for you. Have all the answers. Make the hard stuff go away. As a therapist, I will remind you that you aren’t broken. Give you room to access your own wisdom. Support you in figuring out what to do. Recognize that you are the expert on your own life. Remember that only you know what is best for you. Honor that I don’t know it all. Collaborate with you on how to make the hard stuff easier to sit with.” These are principles I value and abide by.
