I am currently earning my Master’s of Science in Social Work at Metropolitan State University of Denver. I am originally from Denver, Colorado and recently moved to Minnesota. My Bachelor’s degree is in Social Work, also from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
In my work as a clinical intern, I hope to provide people with tools that can help them deal with the challenges they face. I hope to work with individuals as well as families and help them find ways to recover and heal. It is my personal belief that counseling is a safe space for openness and arriving ‘as you are’.
Counseling can appear to be daunting to start, yet once revelations happen, one can discover purpose and goals. My contribution will be holding space for clients to move through the series of stages needed to understand life’s challenges.
I am passionate and interested in couple, family, and individual struggles, confronting depression and anxiety, body-image, and marital issues. I operate from a Strengths Based Perspective, with a desire to meet clients where they are.
Self-care for me looks like walks with my dog, grounding, talking with friends, journaling, and meditation. Staying connected to the people who love you unconditionally is good for the soul and can be healing as well.
